Hello

My name is Aaron Hendon. I am currently the CEO (and Chief Meditation Evangelist) at the Mindful CEO.

I am also a top-producing, award-winning real estate agent (since 2013) who’s coached over 10,000 people in ontonlogical leadership and led programs to elevate performance for groups of 200+ since 1995.

I currently teach mindfulness and performance training for real estate and sales professionals—people who are tired, overwhelmed, and done with the “grind harder/hustle faster” religion.

My approach is direct, practical, and non-woo. I bring science-backed mindfulness, Navy SEAL-style mental skills, and simple daily practices that work in the middle of a chaotic workday (not just on a cushion).

My programs have shown to produce over 160% increase in sales while also providing an 80% reduction in worry and a 70% increase in gratitude in post-program self-assessments. You can read a case study here.

My Story

I grew up as a New York Jew with a particular cocktail of cynical fatalism and weapon-grade guilt baked into my DNA. The core belief was simple: things are never so bad they can't get worse, so you'd better be grateful for what you have.

This meant I was constantly worried about the future while feeling guilty for enjoying the present—a fun combination that led me to spend a lot of time avoiding the whole mess with drugs and drinking. For decades, I thought this was just normal. I had success, a great family, and a solid real estate business pulling six figures a year. But underneath it all, there was always this low hum of anxiety, this Jaws music playing in the background.

Then, on a beautiful 80-degree day in Sonoma in 2023, something cracked.

I was on a retreat with my wife, the woman I love more than anyone, in a gorgeous location with healthy, happy kids and a thriving business. Everything was good. And yet I was still worried. In that moment, I realized I was playing a game I could never win: accumulate enough wealth, health, time, and security, so I'd never have anything to worry about again.

That's not a game you can win. That's not even a game I want to win. I have kids, and I would never want to lose them as something I could worry about.

So I switched games. Instead of "Get enough so I have nothing to worry about," I started playing "Choose what I put my attention on." I got trained as a mindfulness instructor, started working with my real estate team, and something wild happened: I stopped worrying. Not in a naive way—I still care about my kids, my relationships, my work. But I stopped obsessing. I stopped living in future panic. Even when my entire industry saw 50% of deals disappear in 2023, I wasn't stressed.  It was simply the next song there was to dance to.

That's when I knew this wasn't just personal—it was something I needed to share.

Podcast themes/questions

Pain is Inevitable. Suffering is Optional.

The difference between top producers who thrive long-term and those who burn out isn't talent or strategy. It's how they relate to stress, loss, and uncertainty.
  • What's the actual difference between productive struggle and unnecessary suffering?

Train Your Brain, Not Your Willpower

Mindset isn't enough. The brain can be literally retrained through simple, science-backed practice in minutes a day  (no woo required).
  • What does neuroscience say about why willpower-based motivation fails high achievers?

  • What changes in your performance when your brain is no longer running on background anxiety?

Gratitude Isn't Toxic Positivity

Real gratitude isn't pretending everything is fine. It's developing the capacity to hold both the hard stuff and the good stuff at the same time.
  • Why do most gratitude practices fail, and what actually works?

  • How do you lead a team authentically without faking optimism?

Ease Outperforms the Grind

Flow states, presence, and ease aren't soft concepts. They are measurably more productive than stress-driven hustle, and there's a trainable path to get there.
  • "What if the thing holding your team back isn't effort but the energy behind the effort?"

  • "How do you build a high-performance culture that doesn't secretly destroy people?"
